Atty. De Hartoch Slaps MK Rabbi Yaakov Cohen of UTJ
The Knesset and political establishment was shocked by the
growing violence against Knesset members, which reached a new
peak on Tuesday when Atty. Amnon de Hartoch, a Justice
Ministry official in charge of approving support funding
criteria, slapped MK Rabbi Yaakov Cohen on the face inside
the Knesset building.
A forecast prepared by the Central Bureau for Statistics
(CBS) reveals that five years from now every third student in
Israel will be enrolled in the chareidi education system. The
report, which was submitted to the Education Ministry, shows
by the year 2012, for the first time ever, less than half of
all students will belong to the government (mamlachti)
nonreligious school system.
Just two days after the Central Bureau of Statistics
published a report forecasting a continued rise in the number
of students at chareidi schools in Eretz Yisroel (see "CBS
Predicts in Five Years Every Third Child Will Be Enrolled in
Chareidi Education System") the Justice and Education
Ministries are doing everything in their power to undermine
the chareidi education system in Israel, which teaches
hundreds of thousands of students al taharas
hakodesh.
The Knesset plenum approved in second and third readings on
Monday a proposal by Justice Minister Daniel Friedman to
limit the term of all court presidents and vice presidents,

Students from every university and college in Israel can now

One of the four workshops being offered by Beit Natan one

After two years of planning and construction, the Jerusalem

The Immorality of Palestinian Combatants and Noncombatants
According to the Ramo (494:3) we do not say tachanun
from Rosh Chodesh Sivan until after Isru Chag (there
are other minhogim that do not say tachanun
until after the seven days of hashlomoh that follow
Shavuos).
On Rosh Chodesh Sivan we do not say tachanun like on
every Rosh Chodesh. The second of Sivan is called Yom
HaMeyuchas since after yetzias Mitzrayim Hashem
commanded Moshe to say to bnei Yisroel: "Now therefore
if you will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then
you shall be My own treasure from among all peoples"
(Shemos 19:5) to prepare them for Torah. Afterwards,
the third, forth, and fifth of Sivan are the Sheloshes
Yemei Hagboloh when bnei Yisroel waited for
kabolas HaTorah (Mishnah Berurah 494:8, and see
Shabbos 86-88).
We do not say vetzidkoscho tzedek on Shabbos since it
is the YOm MaMeyuchas
