Degel HaTorah Executive Board Meets

By A. Cohen

A recent meeting of the Degel HaTorah Executive Board at party headquarters in Bnei Brak opened with a survey of the weekly meetings held in various locations in the North, South and Central Regions to discuss the expansion and renewal of existing branches and the setup of new branches in 45 towns, local councils and regional councils. Reports were presented by Chairman MK Rabbi Avrohom Ravitz, Secretary MK Moshe Gafni and Municipal Department Director Rabbi Menachem Shapira.

In their surveys they describe a great deal of enthusiasm at the branches where these gatherings are held, attesting to the importance of Degel HaTorah and its representatives in every community, each of which has its own specific needs to be addressed and emphasized.

All of the board members took part in a lively, prolonged discussion on the path Degel HaTorah should follow in the years to come. Alongside Degel HaTorah veterans who have been active in the movement since its inception and took part in its formation by maranan verabonon zt"l vylct"a in order to unite the Torah world and the various chareidi communities under a single movement heeding gedolei Yisroel unswervingly, are numerous public activists and representatives who were very young at the time and today occupy important posts at the various branches as public servants working night and day to promote Degel HaTorah's success.
