Jerusalem Sponsors Activities During Chol Hamoed

During Chol Hamoed, the City of Jerusalem held hundreds of activities for the chareidi public, including Simchas Beis Hashoevoh events in numerous locations.

Mayor Rabbi Uri Lupoliansky also arranged dozens of local neighborhood activities to spare families the effort and expense of traveling to central locations. Communal authorities in neighborhoods such as Romema, Ramat Shlomo, Neveh Yaakov and Har Nof sponsored audio-visual presentations, inflatable attractions, exhibitions and other activities with separate hours for men and women.

The Department for Torah Culture held its main event at the talmudei Torah complex on Rechov Shmuel Hanovi. The five-day event included miniature train rides, a spinning airplane ride, a boat pool, bumper cars, a climbing wall, a ball pool and other attractions. Several presentations were also held at the site, such as a telepathy show, an animal show and a show featuring trained parrots.

The Department for Torah Culture, headed by Rabbi Gavriel Stauber, sponsored 150 Simchas Beis Hashoevoh events in Bayit Vegan, Bucharim, Geula, Har Nof, Givat Shaul, Kiryat Tzanz, the Jewish Quarter, Sanhedria, Neveh Yaakov, Batei Broide, Katamon, Romema, Armon Hanetziv, Ramat Shlomo, Ramot, Mekor Boruch, Ramot Polin, Gush Shmonim, Mattersdorf, Nachalat Tzvi, Beit Yisrael, Kiryat Belz, the downtown area, Maalot Dafna and other locations.

The Mayor said Jerusalem again demonstrated a variety of activities based on taharas hakodesh can be held to allow the public to rejoice in accordance with halochoh during the holidays.
