The Binyan Shalem Company, founded by Degel HaTorah of
Jerusalem, won a Housing Ministry tender for the construction
of thousands of apartment units in the new Na'ot Ha'irusim
project in Yeruchom.
The Israel Lands Administration issued a tender several
months ago for the purchase of land designated for
construction in Yeruchom and the winner was officially
announced this week. Binyan Shalem says it plans to bring in
the first occupants before the next shmittah year,
5768.
Binyan Shalem heads, leaders of the revolution in chareidi
housing in recent years, say the project in Yeruchom is
unique not just because of the government support and the
unbeatable prices, but also because it will also feature
employment opportunities for kollel wives, yeshivas, Torah-
based educational institutions and outstanding
kollelim to fully provide for the needs of the bnei
Torah public.
Binyan Shalem plans to build a top-notch kehilloh
living in quality apartments that will provide bnei
Torah high building standards and quality of life at
unprecedented prices.
The government aims to draw thousands of new residents to the
Negev by investing heavily in infrastructures, transportation
and employment and by promoting construction projects. To
encourage investment in the Negev high-tech companies are
being given incentives.
In addition Israel Railways will soon double its train lines
to the Negev and begin service to Dimona, significantly
reducing travel times to the Central Region. The new southern
section of Highway 6 will also pass very close to Yeruchom,
making the Central Region even closer.
A Torah-based neighborhood is slated to be set up in Yeruchom
alongside the existing chareidi kehilloh headed by
HaRav Mordechai Gross. This Binyan Shalem project will help
solve the pressing problem of housing in Israel as well as
difficulties finding study frameworks for husbands and
sources of income for wives. "No more running from one
gemach to the next and falling into debt, but a
housing solution in a quiet, spacious area together with a
comfortable climate and splendid views," says one Binyan
Shalem spokesman.
The enterprise has received the blessings of gedolei
Yisroel including Maran HaRav Eliashiv, shlita,
who told a Binyan Shalem delegation several months ago, "This
is a great success for the klal and may it be
successful, im yirtzeh Hashem," offering his
encouragement to all of the organizers working to advance the
initiative. The project has also received blessings from
HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman, HaRav Moshe Shmuel Shapira,
HaRav Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz, HaRav Chaim Kanievsky and
HaRav Nosson Tzvi Finkel, shlita.
Binyan Shalem spokesmen say dozens of families signed up for
the project recently and sales campaigns will be boosted in
the coming weeks.
