Bein Hazmanim and Advice for Kiruv by a Ben Torah
A Mussar Shmuess by Maran HaRav Yaakov Kamenetsky zt'l
Edited by Rav Yosef Blier

A Compendium of Remarks from Maran HaRav Yosef Sholom Eliashiv shlita

Yechezkel the Novi (46:8-9) tells us: "When the nosi enters, he shall enter the hall through its gate and leave in the same way. But when an am ho'oretz comes before Hashem on yomim tovim, whoever enters by the northern gate to bow [before Hashem] shall leave by the southern gate.

This is the Way of the Torah
by HaGaon R' Michel Feinstein zt'l

Our Torah is Altogether Pnimiyus

We learn in Yoma 38, "The House of Garmu is censured for not having agreed to teach the method of baking the Lechem Haponim; the House of Avtinas, for not being willing to teach the process of preparing the ketores, and similarly Hagris ben Levi, who was skilled in singing and did not want to teach it to others. Likewise, Ben Kamtzar did not wish to teach how to write [simultaneously with pens placed between his fingers].

To The Editor:

Rabbi Dovid Kornreich's excellent article ("Evolution: Do Not Overrate Its Significance," 12 July '06) exposes many of the problems inherent in the theory of evolution. He omitted one of its most fatal flaws: that it contradicts the well established Second Law of Thermodynamics which underlies many technological advances made in the last 150 years.
