Torah Shiurim and Simchas Beis Hashoeva at Ozerov in Bnei Brak

by Gershon Harris

Lovers of Torah and Chassidus from all over Israel came to Bnei Brak during Chol Hamoed Sukkos to attend the Torah shiurim and Simchas Beis Hashoeva at the Ozerov Beis Medrash. There was standing room only for the fascinating shiurim delivered by important rebbeim.

On the first day of Chol Hamoed, HaRav Carmi gave a fascinating shiur on the prohibition of wearing shatnez, including pictures and slides.

On the second day of Chol Hamoed, HaRav Moshe Vei, head of the Hanchalas Hahalacha Institute and author of the book Examining Food According to Halacha, delivered a lecture on the risks of finding insects in food, also accompanied by a slide presentation.

On the fifth day of Chol Hamoed, HaRav Yosef Rappaport, head of the Mercaz Torani Kollel, delivered a very comprehensive shiur on the halachos of honoring one's parents.

On Motzei Shabbos Kodesh Chol Hamoed a melave malka was held in the beis medrash, attended by the Admor who said that according to Maran Habe'er Moshe, the libations of water were set specifically on Succos because the "lower waters" wanted to come closer to Hashem. Since the mitzvah of Succah involves being under the protection of the Shechina and allowing every Jew the opportunity to "come before the King," it affords the best time for Am Yisroel to come closer to G-d. Following the melave malka, the Simchas Beis Hashoeva was held.
