Counting the Omer and Waiting . . .

Right, Wrong

There's a right way to wait, and a wrong way to wait. To wait in the right way, adds to our power, to our determination, and to our ultimate success. To wait in the wrong way short- circuits the system, and burns it.

We have to wait. We have to wait for the right moment, and before this right moment can come, we have to be ready. There are thoughts we need to think. There are attitudes we need to adopt. There are mindsets we must make ours. We need to improve our character, round out our qualities. We need to cook — as a pot must cook — without drying out, without burning, on a steady fire, that doesn't die.

Then we may be ready, and enjoy all that we want.

How Long?

How long must we wait? We can't see it. We can't know. This however, is part of the challenge. In the face of the uncertainty, we are certain — we are strong. Despite the doubt, the craziness that it takes to hang in, hang on, wait some more, and then some more, we persevere. And in this waiting — in this trust and strength — in this crazy perseverance — and because of it — we will win.

"How can I know that what you say is true?"

We can't know. We must trust. We must just wait. Only then will we see.
