Re: Write-up on the Third Tsefat Women's Writing Conference.
Parshas Vayera.
We were delighted to see a write-up by Sheindel Weinbach
about the third annual Tsfat Women's Writing Conference held
recently. Indeed, her acticle captured some of the
inspiration and enthusiasm that filled the time we spent
together, as well as the excitement expressed by participant
writers during the conference and in the evaluations they
offered at the end of the 24 hours together.
A further note — the musical performer during the
evening program, as opposed to the name quoted in the
article, was Chava Rachel Saban, a local resident and
professional musician/songwriter.
May we enjoy many more enriching conferences together B'H!
Esther Susan Heller, Elisheva Philips and Leiba Smith.
[Family Section Editor's very humble apologies for sloppily
getting the name wrong and for giving any misimpression
whatsoever. May you wonderful women go from strength to
strength. Looking forward to the Fourth TWWC!]
[General Editor's comment: The organizers also noted that
they asked a posek about various issues and followed
his rulings. We just wish to point out that asking a rav to
be sure that no halacha is violated is the minimum standard
that is expected of any religious Jew. Nonetheless, even
though it may be thus assumed that the conference met
halachic standards, it did not meet general Yated
standards, which are higher. We require that a Rov be
responsible for the whole affair, which means that attention
will be given to details that do not violate Halacha but are
still not what Chachomim want. ]
