NIS 1.5b More for Disengagement

The Knesset Finance Committee approved NIS 1.5 billion more for Disengagement expenses, bringing the total budget to NIS 3.5 billion. Around 80 percent of the additional funds will be for compensation to the evacuees. About NIS 800 million will go to individual claimants and NIS 300 million will go to businesses.


Collective Supplementary Health Insurance Plan for Entire Chareidi Public

Due to the heavy financial burdens that have fallen on many chareidi families as a result of extremely expensive medical treatments, a single, collective medical insurance plan for the entire chareidi public is being formulated.


Lulavim to be Imported from Spain Instead of el-Arish

Yeshivas Required to Pay Property Taxes on Dorms and Offices

Interior Ministry Director-General Oscar Abu Razek issued a decision to require yeshivos gedolos with students over the age of 18 to pay local authorities full property taxes (arnona) on space used for dormitories. Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Rabbi Uri Maklev and Bnei Brak Deputy Mayor Rabbi Avrohom Rubinstein asked MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni to intervene in the matter.
