The public is showing a keen interest in Ne'ot Ha'irusim, a
large-scale project in Yeruchom initiated by Binyan Sholem, a
housing company founded by Degel HaTorah of Jerusalem, and
backed by maranan verabonon as part of efforts to
solve the housing crisis in the chareidi sector. The
unprecedented project in the Negev will be built alongside
the developing chareidi kehilloh in Yeruchom and
offers an attractive alternative to rising prices in chareidi
urban centers and various bnei Torah communities.
In addition to a yeshiva, Ne'ot Ha'irusim will include dozens
of kollelim, employment opportunities for women and
quality living at half the price of apartments in similar
chareidi communities. Two-bedroom apartments start at $52,000
with a down payment of just a few thousands dollars. Local
infrastructures will include a Shabbos generator that will go
into operation when the first apartments become occupied.
Since the project was first announced in Yated Ne'eman
hundreds of young couples have registered at the Binyan
Sholem offices along with dozens of large families seeking
ground-floor apartments.
During a recent meeting at the office of Yeruchom Local
Council Head Boruch Elmakias, various details were discussed
regarding the construction of the new neighborhood, the
creation of hundreds of jobs for kollel wives and the
setup of educational facilities.
Binyan Sholem heads recently met with the moro de'asra
of the chareidi kehilloh in Yeruchom, HaRav Mordechai
Kraus, and with Deputy Minister MK Rabbi Avrohom Ravitz and
MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni, who pledged to assist the enormous
project make its way through the various government
ministries.
