Letter to Myself, Age 98
by Rivka Glick
Dear Rebbetzin,
I hope you don't mind my writing you. Probably, you're very
busy doing lots of chessed and good deeds, while
davening all day long and finishing all of Tehillim several
times a day. At least, that's what I always wanted to become,
so I presume that by 98 (until 120), that's what I/you/us
have become.
Sometimes, when I daven, I ask Hashem to answer me in
the merit of all the good things that you do, though, as yet,
I myself haven't done too much. So I just want to thank you
for being who you are and doing all you do.
Love,
You [i.e. Me]
Letter from Myself, Age 98, to Myself Now
Dear Young 'Un,
What Rebbetzin? What merit? What Tehillim? Who I am (or, from
your perspective, who I will become) is (will be) who you
made (will make) me become -- then (now).
So get busy so you won't be ashamed of me! If you don't get
me used to doing good things, where should it come from?
Thanks for your renewed efforts on our behalf.
Love,
Me [i.e. You]
P.S. Anyhow, it's a whole different reality now from when you
wrote that letter, four decades ago. After Moshiach arrived
[sorry, not allowed to tell you when that was but you/I lived
to see it], everything changed so completely that... well,
you'll soon see, when you get here...
Love, again,
Me [You]
