To The Editor:
I am trying to locate my late father's family.
My father was born in Mariampole, Lithuania. His name was
Dovid Gerstenkorn (Dovidos Gerstenkernas). He was an only son
to Zvia and Arye Gerstenkorn and came to Palestine in 1932.
He never spoke of his family and all I know is that his
father was kidnaped to the Lithuanian/Russian (?) army where
he served for about 17 years. I think his mother's maiden
name was Shapira, but I am not sure. They both did not
survive the Holocaust.
Rabbi Kook of Rechovot, whom I have met once, suggested I try
and look in Bnei Brak. Can you by any chance or one of your
readers can be of help to me?
