A Protest of Outrage and Frustration

On Wednesday 28 Sivan the chareidi MKs, all together, staged a very loud and disruptive protest in the Knesset plenum. It was not behavior that is natural to many of them, but it was the expression of a year of frustration as the basic human issues that affect the religious public are not even addressed by the government, despite months and months of repeated letters, requests and even meetings discussing the issues.

The Importance of Sheitels in our Troubled Times
by HaRav Pesach Eliyahu Falk

Part I

We originally printed this series of articles by HaRav Falk almost exactly two years ago. We are reprinting it at this time because of the heightened interest in women's sheitels due to the problems with Indian hair, and due to the fact that many are now buying new sheitels.

The Yeshiva -- Its Form And Methods
By HaRav Moshe Shmuel Shapiro

Part II

Hakodosh Boruch Hu established two yeshivos for Yisroel so that they should be studying [Torah] day and night. Klal Yisroel's yeshivos are the chariot upon which Hashem's Presence rests and through them it comes to rest upon the entire nation. Torah has been studied in the world since the day it was created, without interruption. Yaakov Ovinu sent Yehuda ahead to Mitzrayim to establish a yeshiva, because it was essential for him and his family.

Rav Zev Leff is a regular columnist in Yated Neeman. His column usually does not appear in Dei'ah Vedibur, but we are including this one about Matan Torah.

Politica: The Great Revolt
By E. Rauchberger

MK Rabbi Yisroel Eichler called it the Great Revolt. Last Wednesday chareidi MKs simply stood up during a plenum, walked to the front of the hall and brought the Knesset to a halt. No more business as usual until the religious council workers get paid.
