Special Emergency Services Complex in Beitar
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
The City of Beitar Illit laid the cornerstone on Sunday for a
Regional Forward Emergency Room, the first center of its kind
in the entire area.
The new complex to be built at the entrance to the city would
provide facilities for urgent-care medicine, firefighters and
the city's emergency and security services. Construction is
being funded with assistance from US Jews in the framework of
Keren Halev, a foundation for the development of Beitar. Joe
Sprung of New York assumed the burden of the majority of
construction costs. The Regional Forward Emergency Room is
another milestone in Beitar Illit's development and will
provide extensive response capabilities in urgent care and
emergency services for all of the surrounding towns and
settlements--including Gush Etzion, Tzur Hadassah, Mevo
Beitar, Mata, Bar Giora.
The ceremony was attended by rabbonim, government ministers,
MKs and public figures.
