Thousands of Elad Residents Back United List
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
Thousands of Elad residents are joining ranks under the
united "Shasad" list, which represents people from every
color of the spectrum. Hundreds of activists in 15 local
party offices scattered around the city are reporting
unprecedented interest in the candidates' plans for the
coming term.
The geographical distribution of the neighborhood offices was
determined according to the polling places that will be set
up around the city and the various population sectors. Office
heads report a varied mosaic of residents--Ashkenazim and
Sephardim, Yemenites and Bukharans, Chassidim and Litvaks--
are volunteering to help the party. The list chairman and
mayoral candidate, Rabbi Tzvi Cohen, and the candidate for
deputy mayor, Rabbi Tzvi Herbst, along with the
representatives on the list, have been visiting the bureaus
daily and say with every visit they receive boosts of
encouragement as the campaign draws closer.
