Hundreds of Condensed Shemiras Haloshon Shiurim Around the Country
by Betzalel Kahn

During this period of Bein Hametzarim, Beis Yisroel is working to reinforce the study and fulfillment of hilchos shemiras haloshon, in part through the success of an wide array of condensed shiurim on hilchos shemiras haloshon held in hundreds of cities and neighborhoods and sponsored by Notzrei Haloshon.

Three weeks ago maranan verabonon issued a call to the holy yeshivas, talmudei Torah and schools as well as every family and individual, to strengthen the study of hilchos shemiras haloshon. The message was well received everywhere as more and more shiurim were organized in chareidi areas for men eager to study hilchos shemiras haloshon.

The enormous demand among women for a similar series surprised even shemiras haloshon activists. Hotlines around the country were flooded with calls from rebbetzins, teachers, educators and individual women requesting and even pleading for additional shiurim, which are currently being organized.

Dozens of shiurim are being held in places such as Elad, Beit Shemesh, Modi'in Illit and Tiberius. Times and places have been publicized in local announcements. Numerous shiurim are also underway in Rechovot, where a conference for women is scheduled. The city's chief rabbi, HaRav Simchoh HaKohen Cook, also agreed to take part in the shiurim and spoke highly of the initiative.

Shiurim are also being held in places such as Rishon Letzion, Netivot and Zichron Yaakov. Details are posted in botei knesses there. In Jerusalem and Bnei Brak as well numerous shiurim are being given by well-known rabbonim.
