On the 17th of Sivan, the International Conference of the
Makava community will take place in the city of Makava,
Hungary. On the occasion of the 60th year since the passing
of the famous tzaddik and Rebbe, Reb Moshe
Vorhand zt'l, author of the Ohel Moshe, an
International Conference of his descendants and
talmidim from all corners of the world will be held,
under the leadership of the current Makava Rebbe.
This past year, the construction of the new ohel on
the Rebbe's gravesite in the ancient cemetery in the
city of Makava in Southern Hungary was completed. The
Chairman of the International Committee of Makava, Rabbi
David Margalit, related that preparations are being completed
for the grand gathering that will take place on the 60th
yahrtzeit in the beis medrash that was
renovated and restored by the International Committee, after
its chanukas habayis in 5762.
This past year, two seforim of the Ohel Moshe of
Makava zy'a were published. He was one of the great
rabbonim and rosh yeshivas in the generation before the
Holocaust.
The first sefer that was published is Ohel Moshe --
Nisu'in, with chidushim and explanations on
eirusin, nisu'in, kedushas habayis and other topics.
The second sefer -- Haggodoh shel Pesach-Ohel Moshe --
includes chidushim on maseches Pesochim, and
shiurim that were delivered to yeshiva bochurim
a hundred years ago.
The seforim that were published are the first in a
series of his seforim that are to be published this
coming year with chidushim on masechtos Chulin,
Kiddushin, Gittin and others by the Nachlas Moshe
Institute for the Publication of our Rabbis' Seforim.
During their meetings in the past month, the Municipality of
Makava and the heads of the International Conference have
concluded all of the technical arrangements to absorb the
masses who will arrive from all corners of the world, and
have arranged for the local police to reinforce security
measures there.
Special flights will leave Israel, the U.S.A., England and
Belgium for Budapest, to bring participants.
