Opinion of Maran HaRav Eliashiv

At Maran's behest HaRav Aharon Dovid Dunner, shlita, a dayan in London, traveled to India to clarify practical aspects of wigs made of human hair in India.

According to the inquiries he made, hair cut off in the place of idol worship in Tirupati is halachically considered an idol-worship offering (tikroves avodoh zora).

Therefore Maran HaRav Eliashiv, shlita, ruled one may not use wigs made of human hair from India.
