involved in terror activities. Three other Hamas terror
criminals were detained at the same time, including one who
was arrested while preparing a bomb. Israeli troops
encountered heavy fire in the operation, including seven
bombs that were set off.

Prime Ministry Ariel Sharon said he would work to shorten the
conversion procedure "to ease the hardship of people waiting
a long time to complete the process." Sharon said the change
would become feasible once the Interior Ministry was taken

Ezer Mizion and Yad Sarah were Hard at Work in
Yerushalayim's Snowstorm
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
The largest snowstorm in Jerusalem in 50 years blanketed the
city with a foot of snow and shut it down for two days. While
children and their parents enjoyed an unexpected vacation,
Ezer Mizion and Yad Sarah staff and volunteers worked round
the clock to help the sick, the handicapped and the elderly --

Current Findings Regarding Bug Infestation
by Devorah Plaut and Ruth Levy
From time to time, conditions change in the world of food
infestation -- foods that used to be free of bugs and did not
require checking became host to insects, or vice versa. Or
existing conditions that we were not aware of come to light
(as happened in the case of mushrooms from China, about a
year and a half ago).
OPINION &
COMMENT
Economic Prospects for the New Government
At the ceremony marking the change in ministers at the
Finance Ministry, the incoming minister Binyamin Netanyahu
was all business. He said that the main immediate task is to
bring the Israeli economy to a safe harbor, and that Israel
can still expect rough sailing in the immediate future. He
noted that the entire government, including the prime
minister, must pitch in to get out of the mess and then ended
simply: "Chevra, let's get to work."
