The murder of two Jews, in Casablanca and Meknes, has alarmed Morocco's Jewish community. Jewish sources in Casablanca say some Moroccan workers threatened to kill their Jewish employers.

Government Approves Tough 2004 Budget

After a marathon Cabinet meeting that lasted from 8 am Monday morning until the early hours of Tuesday, the government approved the 2004 state budget, including an additional NIS 1.1 billion in unplanned social cuts that was needed because of the decision not to take so much out of the security budget.

U.S. Official to Present Evidence of Syrian Involvement in Terror to US Congress

Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security John Bolton is planning to testify that Syria has not stopped terrorists from crossing its border into Iraq to kill American soldiers. Bolton will also say that the administration is concerned about what it sees as Syria's continuing support for terrorist groups like Hamas, and he is expected to reiterate accusations that Syria has an ambitious program to develop chemical, biological and nuclear weapons.

Father and Daughter Buried the Day of Her Wedding

Dr. David Applebaum and his daughter Nava, murdered in the terrorist attack on a Jerusalem cafe last week, were buried on the day her wedding was scheduled, one of the most tragic stories the city has known during the terrorist attacks of the past few years.

Classroom Shortages at Several Chareidi Institutions in Jerusalem

Jerusalem Mayor Rabbi Uri Lupoliansky toured several chareidi educational institutions in the city last week on the opening day of the 5764 school year. The Department of Chareidi Education was happy to note the school year opened without any serious hitches, except for a few mosdos that have not yet found a solution to classroom shortages.
