Public Announcement by Gedolei Yisroel
We hereby call [the public's attention to] the matter of the
elections to be held in the holy city of Jerusalem on 3 Sivan
5763. Many fundamental Torah matters can be achieved and
strengthened if there is strong representation for yir'ei
Hashem and the upholders of His Name.
Unfortunately and to our great sorrow there are people in
Jerusalem who seek to breach the walls of Shabbos and the
walls of the Jewish religion. We must do everything in our
power to prevent them from carrying out their schemes.
Therefore we hereby issue this call and make known our
opinion that each and every individual has an obligation to
vote and encourage others to vote only for the United Torah
Jewry list for the City Council, the "Gimmel" list, and for
our mayoral candidate Rabbi Uri Lupoliansky, a man of
chesed and a man of action who has worked and is
working faithfully for the sake of Jerusalem residents.
One only encourages the mezurozim, therefore we urge
each and every individual to vote as early as possible.
We hereby bless all those who heed our words with all
blessings for good and may the verse "Yevorechecho Hashem
miTzion ure'ei betuv Yerushalayim" be realized in
them.
