Feeling Pooped?
By Dr. Reuven Bruner, Ph.D.

No energy? Instead of your muscles, the surprising cause could be your stomach and how you feed it.

What's going in your stomach can either power your body or exhaust you. Two eating patterns that are standard operating procedures for millions of people actually sap your energy. Here's how to stop those energy leaks and get all day long pep.

A. Don't let your battery run low by skipping meals. Skipping meals leaves your stomach without food energy to deliver to your body, bringing on temporary low blood sugar. After skipping a meal, otherwise healthy bochurim were too groggy to learn.

B. Don't overload your circuits by fressing. Stuffing yourself with too big a meal will make you more tired. That's because blood flow is diverted from the rest of your body, including your brain, to help your stomach deal with the logjam of food.

SECRET: Eat whole grains and beans for a long-lasting energy supply.
