Seguloh to Protect Against Harm
During these difficult times it would be worthwhile to
publicize an excerpt from Shaarei Teshuvoh on
Hilchos Shabbos, 293, 3 mentioned by HaRav Don Segal
during a shiur he gave.
The Ramo (ibid.) writes, "And the custom is to
lengthen the words `VeHu rachum' and `Borechu'
in a pleasant voice in order to add more time from the week
to the holy [Shabbos]." On this Ramo, the Shaarei
Teshuvoh writes, "And at the end of Hilchos Tzitzis the
Halochos Gedolos writes, `People ought to extend [the
recitation of] Boruch Hashem Hamevorach on motzei
Shabbos for thus they can be spared from harm during that
week.'
"The Bircas Yosef also cites this and adds that he saw in the
holy handwriting of Morenu Verabbenu Rav Chaim Vital that
when one extends his recitation of Boruch Hashem
Hamevorach he has success in the coming week."
For us these remarks are exceptionally stirring. Through this
fabulous seguloh one can merit two gifts worth more
than gold. A] A seguloh to spare oneself from harm
during the course of the week. B] A seguloh for
success (which Rabbenu Chaim Vital attests is tried and
true). All this through a small action--merely lengthening
slightly and concentrating when saying, "Boruch Hashem
Hamevorach" on motzei Shabbos. All that is required of
someone who wants to merit this fabulous seguloh is
simply to extend the Shabbos a few seconds by concentrating
in his heart at the end of Shabbos when saying, Boruch
Hashem Hamevorach."
