The United Torah Jewry election staff in Jerusalem has
stepped up the campaign drive as next Tuesday's municipal
elections draw near.
Last week all staff organizers and election-day organizers
met together with all ten candidates on the UTJ City Council
list, who stressed the gravity of the task placed on the
various organizers to induce all potential voters to support
the UTJ list and to vote for Rabbi Uri Lupoliansky for
mayor.
Candidate Rabbi Avrohom Feiner called on UTJ organizers,
activists and volunteers to gird themselves for the final ten
days of the campaign, and to do everything in their power to
increase UTJ's representation on the City Council.
Candidate Rabbi Yehoshua Pollak reminded listeners that their
job is not to be drawn into provocations by outside figures,
but to focus on the singular goal of maximizing UTJ votes.
The other speakers added that during the few days remaining
the entire campaign apparatus must swing into action, leaving
no stones unturned, bringing the message of chareidi Judaism
to each and every place and ensuring that not a single UTJ
voter stays at home on election day.
Election staffs in every neighborhood of the city have
already been operating for nearly two weeks, with plans to
expand neighborhood activity around the city by increasing
leaflet distribution, holding home meetings every evening in
every neighborhood as well as election rallies with
participation by neighborhood rabbonim, UTJ candidates, MKs
and public figures.
