The newly-elected members of the Beitar Illit Degel HaTorah
branch convened recently for a get-acquainted session. The
board members had recently been elected, following the
instructions of gedolei Yisroel to conduct internal
elections in the Beitar Illit branch. More than 500 heads of

The get-acquainted session began with the election of chairman
and secretary of the branch. Rabbi Yisroel Aisenstark, a
prominent Beitar activist, was chosen chairman; Rabbi Yisroel
Yitzchok Golumb was elected secretary.
Words of chizuk were delivered by Rav Avrohom Stern,
rav of the Ohalei Torah community, as well as by Rabbi Avrohom
Ravitz, Rabbi Moshe Gafni and Rabbi Mordechai Blau. Rav Meir
Simcha Auerbach, the rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Chacham
Tzvi and rav of the Beitar Hadekel neighborhood, also
addressed the meeting.
Closing remarks were delivered by Rabbi Yitzchok Pindrus,
current deputy mayor of Beitar Illit and a candidate for the
position of mayor.
The following also attended the meeting: Rabbi Yaakov
Gutterman, mayor of Modi'in Illit; Rabbi Uri Maklev, deputy
mayor of Jerusalem; Rabbi Avrohom Rubinstein, member of the
Bnei Brak Municipality; Rabbi Moshe Frank, chairman of the
Jerusalem branch of Degel HaTorah and Rabbi Bentziyon Kugler,
