What does a new year mean to most of the people in the world?

"Umimishpotecha yoreisi!" A pall of dread descended
upon the listeners . . .
The Behavior of Tzaddikim on Yom Kippur
HaRav Yisroel of Salant zt"l said, "How great is the
mercy that HaKodosh Boruch Hu shows His creation! If we
had only experienced Yom Kippur once in seventy years, if we
had only received repentance and forgiveness for our sins and
wrongdoings at these rare occasions -- even then we would have
had cause for unbelievable joy and happiness! It would have
been a time of tremendous gratitude for the special
chessed that we experience from the One who is All
Merciful and Forgiving.

your heart to do it."
The Torah emphasizes that keeping the Torah is something very
easy. The prophet Yeshaya also says, "But you have not called
upon Me, Yaakov, but you have been weary of Me, Yisroel"
(43:21). He is stressing here the simplicity in observing the
commandments of the Torah.

No one can say for sure that Avraham Burg will indeed assume
the post of Labor Party chairman, for Ben Eliezer has already
announced that he will take whatever steps necessary to unveil
what he calls "the hijacking of the elections and ballot
fraud." However, with all due respect to the legal process,
the chances of altering the results are next to nothing. The
courts only change election results under rare circumstances,
and this case is unlikely to fall in that category.
