Israel Blasts Palestinian Casino

An Israeli cannon shot into the third floor of the Jericho
casino from where fire has emanated constantly over the past
days. The casino used to bring in NIS 1 million per day from
Israelis.
The gambling halls were not hit but the offices suffered
damage. The Palestinians, according to Israel Radio, are
fuming and say this has escalated the hostilities to a new
level.
Up until now, Israel has avoided firing at the casino, which
has been closed. Israel had blocked its residents from going
to the casino during the current hostilities, so it had no
reason to stay open.
Knowing that high Palestinian officials had interests in the
casino, Israel has avoided shooting at it. Nonetheless,
Palestinian gunmen shoot from it freely at Vered Yericho, a
Jewish settlement in the area. On Sunday night Israel
replied with force.
