Vishinantem Celebrates Eighteen Years of Shinun

A gala event was held motzei Shabbos parshas Mikeitz
to mark 18 years since the founding of Vishinantem.
Vishinantem was a pioneer in encouraging shinun and
chazoroh of gemora. Since the first exam
during Chanukah, 5743, in which thirty-seven people
participated, the organization has grown by leaps and
bounds. 150 new participants joined the program during
bein hazmanim of the past months of Nisan and
Tishrei.
Since the organization's founding, participants have been
tested on more than three million, eight hundred thousand
pages of gemora with Rashi, Tosafos and the
Rosh. With the next exam, Vishinantem is expected to
pass the four million page mark.
Hundreds of program participants joined alumni and parents
for the gala ceremony. The event was graced by the presence
of many roshei yeshiva and moderated by HaRav
Shapira, secretary of Vishinantem.
Divrei Torah and droshos were delivered by the
following rabbonim and roshei yeshiva: HaRav Moshe Chodosh,
rosh yeshiva of Ohr Elchonon; HaRav Ezriel Tauber, founder
of the organization; HaRav Ephraim Fishel Rabinowitz, rosh
yeshiva of Ruzhin; HaRav Yigal Rosen, rosh yeshiva of Ohr
Yisroel, HaRav Shimshon Pincus; and HaRav Meir Flakser, a
ram in the Chiddushei Harim yeshiva. Letters from
HaRav Gershon Edelstein, one of the roshei yeshiva of
Ponovezh and HaRav Yisroel Moshe Dushinsky were read.
Honoring the event with their presence were HaRav Avrohom
ben David, rosh yeshivas Netiv De'ah Viderech Chaim veSholom
of Ashkelon; HaRav Yitzchok Moshe Gutterman, menahel
ruchani of the Gerrer yeshiva of Ashdod; HaRav Yosef
Tzvi Dushinsky, the rosh yeshiva of Beis Yosef Tzvi; HaRav
Yaakov Hillel, the rosh yeshiva of Chevras Ahavat Sholom;
HaRav Mendel Weinbach, the rosh yeshiva of Ohr Somayach;
HaRav Gavriel Yosef Levi, rosh yeshiva of Be'er HaTorah;
HaRav Yitzchok Lorincz, one of the roshei yeshiva of Kol
Torah; HaRav Moshe Man, one of the roshei yeshiva of Beis
Yitzchok; HaRav Y. Naishtat, rav of Kehal Chassidim in Neve
Yaakov; HaRav Nosson Tzvi Finkel, the rosh yeshiva of the
Mirrer yeshiva; HaRav Y. Feinstein, one the roshei yeshiva
of Ameiloh Shel Torah; HaRav Moshe Friedman, a ram in
Nezer HaTorah; HaRav Meir Usher Kaufman, menahel
ruchani of Chayei Moshe, and HaRav Brachya Shenker, rosh
yeshiva of Tifferes HaTalmud.
The Vishinantem examiners included HaRav Naftali Sheinberger
and HaRav Yaakov Shemesh. At the end of the event, stipends
were distributed to the 700 participants.
