Four new Kollel Families join an Australian Kollel
by the Australian Yated correspondent

Four new Kollel families have recently traveled half way around the world to join Kollel Beis Hatalmud (The Lakewood Kollel) in Melbourne Australia.

A melave malke was held in their honor recently to give the community a chance to meet with the new avreichim.

One of the new avreichim, Rav Aryeh Berlin, addressed the audience. He comes from London and has studied in the famed yeshivos of Gateshead and Mir. The other avreichim to join are Rav Eli Saftlas from the U.S.A. who also studied in the Mir, and Rav Yeshaye Stengel from Israel who previously studied in Yeshivas Beis Mattisyohu in Bnei Brak and under HaRav Paller.

Rav Aryeh Goldman, a Belzer chossid, decided to join the kollel after receiving a brocho from the Belzer Rov.

The four were selected by one of the roshei hakollel Rav Dovid Nojowitz who was willing to undertake the extra financial burden for the sake of further improving the ruach of Torah in the kollel.

Over the years various kolleleit have left and taken up positions as rabbonin, dayanim and maggidei shiurim around the world. Thus there arose a need to find new yungerleit. The arrival of the four gave the kollel a fresh boost which will further raise the banner of Torah in Australia.

One of the new yungerleit, Rav Yeshayah Stengel, is editing a kovetz of chidushei Torah which the avreichim produced while they studied maseches Zevochim. It is expected to be published in conjunction with the upcoming celebration of the kollel's 20th year, later on this year.
