Advanced technological improvements were recently introduced
into the computerized system of the Kol Hadaf program. The
network had suffered from overload from thousands of people
listening to shiurei Torah daily through its telephone
service.
System engineers and analysts intent on improving the
computerized system met with communications experts, who were
amazed by the new system. The system withstands the pressure
of thousands of calls a day.
In addition, information pools have been expanded to tens of
thousands of hours of new shiurei Torah on all aspects
of Torah study.
A new channel for divrei mussar and his'orerus
delivered by famous admorim and rabbonim was opened
before Rosh Hashana, in addition to the existing ones on
daf hayomi or other pages in Shas in Hebrew, Yiddish
and English. The Mishnah is also available in Hebrew and
Yiddish.
A special advantage of the computerized system is that one
can "make up" any missed shiur at any time. Those who
have difficulty understanding a specific section of gemora
can also avail themselves of this new service.
The shiurim are available at 02-5385842 or 03-5794001.
The cost of a call (call duration does not matter) is 69.28
agorot between 8 AM - 4 P.M.; 46.19 agorot
between 4-10 P.M. and 23.10 agorot between 10 P.M.
and 8 AM.
Heads of the program note with satisfaction that every moment
of the day and night there is at least a minyan of
Torah learners in the program (accept for Shabbos and Yom
Tov, of course). They add that Kol Hadaf's tape library with
a wide range of Torah topics serves thousands a day.
The directors of Kol Hadaf ask the community to rally to the
aid of this project's important efforts, thus becoming
partners in the great mitzvah of zikui horabbim and
the strengthening of Torah.
