As every year, the women of Jerusalem are eagerly awaiting
the annual Yom Iyun on Shemiras Haloshon, an event that has
become a treasured tradition.
The event -- a series of lectures in neighborhoods
throughout the capital and elsewhere, culminating in a large
gathering in the Jerusalem International Convention Center,
Binyanei Ha'Uma, that draws many thousands of women of all
ages from all over the country, takes place every year
during the Nine Days.
Last year there were two separate assemblies: one for high
school and seminary girls and another for women. Due to the
success of this idea, it will be repeated this year.
This year's theme is "Kol Dodi Dofeik . . . "
combined with "La'asos Retzoncho Beleivov
Sholeim."
The Hebrew Yom Iyun is scheduled for Monday, the third of
Av, July 23rd. The girls' assembly will take place at 10:30
a.m. Addressing the audience will be HaRabbonim
shlita: R' Yitzchok Ezrachi, R' Yisroel Gans and R'
Reuven Karelenstein.
The women's assembly will take place in the evening, at
7:30. Addressing the audience will be HaRabbonim
shlita: R' Yisroel Gans, R' Ezriel Tauber and R'
Aharon Tausig.
The English Kenes for women and girls will take place in
Binyanei Ha'Uma on Wednesday, the 5th of Av, July 25th.
Addressing the women will be HaRabbonim shlita: R'
Gavriel Ginsberg, R' Avrohom Chaim Feuer and R' Yehuda Aryeh
Dunner.
Within a few days, the familiar huge invitation and schedule
of classes will appear in Jerusalem mailboxes. As in past
years, there will be sessions in several languages, some
geared to youngsters.
The public is asked to watch for announcements regarding
ticket sales and to take note of the different tickets being
sold for the three assemblies.
