Two weeks ago the cornerstone was laid for the Khal Yereim
Makova
mosdos haTorah in Rova 7 in Ashdod. Participating in
the ceremony
were prominent admorim, rabbonim and dayanim, led by
the Admor
of Makova.
Towards evening a large crowd from Bnei Brak, Yerushalayim,
Ashdod,
Kiryat Ata and other places began to gather. The cornerstone
marked
the beginning of construction of a major complex that is
planned to
include a large beis medrash, a separate study hall
for the
kollel, a yeshiva letze'irim, a modern
mikveh,
shtiblech for Torah and tefilla, an extensive
Torah library,
and other areas. The new complex will be named after the
baal
Ohel Moshe, zt"l, and the baal Ateres Moshe,
zy"a.
Opening the ceremonies was mincha led by HaRav Yisroel
Tzvi
Lemberger, the rosh kollel Ateres Moshe of Makova in
Ashdod
and the son of the rav of the kehilla HaRav Meir
Shlomo Lemberger.
Afterwards, R' Dovid Margolios, one of the prominent
askonim,
led the saying of ten kapitlach Tehillim.
Next the Gavad of Makova led the actual cornerstone
laying
at the place of the aron hakodesh at the eastern end
of the
site. He spoke about the importance and great zechus
it is
to build such a beis medrash that will be in memory of
rabboseinu
hakedoshim.
Afterwards the dignitaries were honored, including HaRav Y.
Sheinfeld,
the av beis din of Kiryat Herzog in Bnei Brak, HaRav
Menachem
Mendel Lemberger, rav of Kehillas Moshe Makova in
Yerushalayim, HaRav
Yosef Osher Anshel Lemberger, rav of Kehillas Makova in
Netanya, HaRav
Shlomo Goldman, son-in-law of the Ateres Moshe and the
mashgiach
of Yeshivas Ruzhin in Yerushalayim, as well as HaRav Dovid
Gross,
rav of Ger in Ashdod, HaRav Tzvi Vishnitzer, rav of Vishnitz
in Ashdod,
HaRav Pesach Horowitz, rav of Belz in Ashdod, HaRav Yisroel
Yaakov
Lemberger, rav of Makova in Bnei Brak, and HaRav Chaim
Menachem Mendel
Lemberger, the son of the Gavad of Makova.
In conclusion the rav of the community, HaRav Meir Shlomo
Lemberger,
thanked the askonim for their dedication and blessed
them
to be able to finish quickly. The Gavad of Makova then
conducted
his Tish Lechaim and wished everyone shefa brocho
vehatzlocho.
After ma'ariv the gabboim R' Yaakov Rotman and
R'
Moshe Eliezer Friedman were thanked for the success of the
affair
which brought glory to Torah and its supporters. May the
