Yeshiva Be'er HaTorah is Growing

by Yated Ne'eman Staff

The newly established but fast growing Yeshiva Be'er HaTorah in Gateshead has taken on two new maggidei shiur, both graduates of Gateshead Kollel. Rabbi Boruch Shimon Barnett will be taking an additional gemora shiur as will Rabbi Kasriel Wagschal who will also concentrate on halacha subjects. The Yeshiva pays particular attention to the individual needs of its students and both these rabbonim, eminent talmidei chachomim, have shown special talents in this sphere.

Rabbi Barnett was born in London and attended the Yesodai HaTorah school. He was among the first group of out-of-town bochurim at the Yeshiva Lezeirim in Gateshead, and then moved on to Gateshead Yeshiva and later to Ponovezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak. Eleven years ago he joined the Gateshead Kollel and became an Executive member.

Rabbi Wagschal was a pupil of the Gateshead Jewish Primary School established by his revered father, Rabbi Shaul Wagschal, the well-known author of many popular halacha publications. He studied in Gateshead Yeshiva and, after some years at Ponovezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak, he became a member of the Gateshead Kollel.

A further senior Gateshead Kollel appointment is that of Rabbi Elozor Liebman who will be giving shiurim at the newly-established Beis Chaya Rochel Seminary in various subjects, mainly halacha and hashkofo. He spent his early years at the Chaye Olam Yeshiva North-West London, followed by seven years at Ponovezh Yeshiva before joining the Gateshead Kollel.
