Eretz Yisroel Today I found out that my current job will soon be coming to an end. I wasn't particularly surprised and, oddly enough, not really upset either. From the Israeli Economy The earliest time of Kiddush Levonoh -- II Adar The time of Kiddush Levonoh everywhere in the world begins on Wednesday night, the eve of 2 II Adar (Mar. 8), at 8:00 P.M., in Eretz Yisroel. It is, however, impossible to make a berochoh on Kiddush Levonoh in Eretz Yisroel at all that night because the moon sets before the earliest time, and their actual time is from the beginning of the next night, the eve of 3 II Adar. In Europe one can make Kiddush Levonoh on that night according to the difference in time zones in comparison to Eretz Yisroel. In America one can make a berochoh from the beginning of that night. The astronomical new moon follows the molad this month by approximately eleven and a half hours and is at 5:17 A.M., Tuesday morning, 30 I Adar (Mar. 7). Those who act according to the Chazon Ish and do not make a berochoh on the moon until it is big and high in the sky, should not make Kiddush Levonoh on the eve of 2 II Adar even in America and especially not in Europe where the moon will be particularly low. They should wait until Thursday night, the eve of 3 II Adar, and will be able to make Kiddush Levonoh from the beginning of the night. |
