Improvements will soon be made in Jerusalem's Tipat Chalav
(Child and Mother Care) centers, according to Rabbi Yechiel
Turgeman, chairman of Health Services in the Jerusalem
Municipality.
Meeting with senior officials in the Health Services
Department, Rabbi Turgeman heard extensive reports about the
services offered to children and mothers in Tipat Chalav
clinics throughout the city. He learned that many Tipat
Chalav clinics are located in old, overcrowded buildings,
with conditions which do not enable nurses to offer maximal
care.
Last week, a new Tipat Chalav was dedicated in Jerusalem's
Pisgat Ze'ev neighborhood. The center will serve half of the
residents of that large neighborhood. At the dedication,
Rabbi Turgeman praised department workers, who are doing much
on behalf of Jerusalem's mothers and children. The
Municipality, with the aid of the Housing Ministry and Mifal
Hapayis will soon dedicate a new Tipat Chalav in Ramat
Shlomo.
