A Helping Hand
by Yated Ne'eman Staff

Chaim is a sixteen year old yeshiva bochur, charming, bright and committed to his Yiddishkeit. He has only one problem -- he can't cope with the rigorous academic learning program of the yeshiva.

Should Chaim simply be written off as one of the statistics who just isn't going to make it?

The Jerusalem Institute for Applied Technical Training (ATT) answers that question with a resounding "No!" With warmth and acceptance ATT has created a vibrant alternative, a positive and structured educational program which grants students the opportunity to maximize their potential, in accordance with their needs.

ATT's unique track opens up a world of self-sufficiency to its students, granting them broad prospects for their future as productive members of the community both in Yiddishkeit and in mundane pursuits.

Administered and run by authentic bnei Torah and established with the brochos of gedolei Yisroel, ATT has developed a dynamic program with a healthy blend of learning, work, character and confidence building.

In addition to their hours of limudei kodesh, the ATT students receive the highest caliber hands-on training in such fields as carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. Much experience is gained by providing subsidized services to Jerusalem's most needy households, thus practicing skills and chesed at the same time.

Students are meticulously taught by professionals who offer training and expertise in their respective fields while additionally serving as role models and mentors. Graduates receive a course completion diploma from ATT. Furthermore the Institute accompanies its graduates out into the world, helping them with employment guidance and assistance based on the school's extensive network of professionals.

This well-balanced blend of Yiddishkeit and practical life training succeeds in addressing the needs of Chaim and his friends helping them become the well integrated working Bnei Torah they so truly want to be.

ATT provides its students with a helping hand in more ways than one, for now and for the future.

For further information regarding the upcoming year and the limited opportunities for placement please call the ATT office in Jerusalem at: (02) 533-4833.
