A dispute over remnants of the 13th century Jewish cemetery
discovered in downtown Prague during construction three years
ago is heating up again, despite a compromise reached in
March that was intended to end the controversy.

Workers in the Zoglobek food factory in the North have
recently presented shocking testimony to the heads of the
Pe'ilim-Lev L'Achim organization's Department for the Battle
Against Cults. They describe the prolonged pressures exerted
on them to participate in workshops in methods of the
Scientology cult. "We live in constant fear and feel
threatened," say factory employees.

Ministerial Committee Boosts

Last week, the Ministerial Committee for Jerusalem Affairs
submitted its recommendation to the government for adoption
of a plan to help those wishing to purchase apartments in
Jerusalem. The plan will aid eligible families who now lack
apartments, immigrants, students, authorized rabbis and high-
tech personnel already employed in Jerusalem who do not live
in the city.

Rabbinical Courts to Hear Cases on Monetary Issues

Knesset Constitution Committee approved a proposal
authorizing rabbinical courts to hear cases on monetary
issues when both sides consent, despite opposition by the
Justice Ministry. The Committee approved Rabbi Shmuel
Halpert's proposal for its first reading in the Knesset.
