No-Confidence Proposal Ruffles the Coalition

This past Monday (29 Adar I), Likud placed a proposal of no- confidence in the prime minister on the Knesset table due to the decision of Education Minister Yossi Sarid to incorporate the poems of the Palestinian poet, Mahmoud Darwish into the curriculum of the state schools, at the same time dropping traditional Jewish sources expressing their love for and commitment to Eretz Yisroel.

Dollar Continues to Fall: 4.001 on Monday

For the first time this secular year, the dollar flirted with the 4.00 barrier as it fell 0.55 percent against the shekel on Monday and the representative rate was fixed at NIS 4.001, the lowest level since more than a year ago in October 1998 during the financial turmoil in the last quarter of that year.
