The trial of the 13 Iranian Jews charged with espionage for
Israel ended on Monday, Iyar 24. The court postponed
sentencing for two weeks.
A huge women's prayer rally was held on Iyar 26 in the
Wagshal Hall in Bnei Brak to entreat the Ribono Shel
Olam to redeem those unfortunate Jews from their
sorrowful plight. The rally opened with recitation of
Tehillim.. Words of his'orerus were delivered
by HaRav Yehuda Yosefi. A family member of one of the
imprisoned Jews also spoke.
Prior to the rally, signs were posting throughout Bnei Brak
asking women to participate in the sorrow of our brethren,
whom the gedolei hador have called, "a public
sacrifice." Jews the world over have been asked to continue
to evoke rachmei Shomayim by reciting the following
chapters of Tehillim: 56, 77 and 141.
