Jerusalem Paper 2000, a factory specializing in the
production of domestic and industrial paper
products from recycled waste paper products, was
dedicated last week in Kiryat Gat. The company has
merited the blessing and encouragement of rabbonim
and the support of the heads of the city. Its
owners state that unlike other enterprises in the
paper field, it will be closed on Shabbos and
holidays.
The factory was founded by Reb Moshe Indig, a
Jerusalem entrepreneur, and is directed by Eli
Shimon, who has considerable experience in
management of similar enterprises.
The factory will manufacture a broad range of
commercial paper products as well as disposable
sheets for hospitals and a variety of plastic bags.
The company employs 28 workers.
The promoters, who have invested 2 million dollars
for the coming year, intend to continue to develop
new product lines at an accelerated pace, with the
aim to double the work force to 60 employees.
The enterprise was dedicated at a modest ceremony
last week with the participation of the mayor and
his deputies, as well as communal leaders. The
Chief Rabbi of Rechovot, Rav Simcha Hacohen Kook,
affixed the mezuza to the company's main door
and praised the owners' efforts on behalf of the
sanctity of Shabbos. He said that whoever is able
to help those mekadshei Hashem should do so.
Mayor of Kiryat Gat Albert Erez congratulated the
factory owners. "Jerusalem Paper 2000 will serve as
a model to other companies, transforming the city
into a large industrial center. I am happy that the
company owners are receiving preferential economic
help from the Municipality, and I wish them
success."
