The last day for Kiddush Levono -- Teves
One can say Kiddush Levonoh in the entire world until
Shabbos Parshas Vayechi, 14 Teves (Jan. 2), at 2:54
P.M., Israeli time. The final time in most of the world is
therefore actually the entire leil Shabbos. In western
USA and Canada the final time is leil Shabbos
according to the difference in time zones in comparison to
Eretz Yisroel. In eastern countries it is possible to make
Kiddush Levonoh even on Motzei Shabbos
according to the difference in times zones in comparison to
Eretz Yisroel.
If one did not make the brocho on Kiddush
Levonoh before Shabbos it is preferable to make it
now on leil Shabbos (Jan. 1) than to altogether
forfeit the brocho. In addition, even in the eastern
countries since Motzei Shabbos is after the
astronomical full moon it is preferable to act like the
Mishnah Berurah and make a brocho on leil
Shabbos (Chap. 426, Sha'ar HaTziyon 13).
The astronomical full moon is at 4:49 A.M. Shabbos morning,
ten hours and five minutes before the nigud
emtzo'i.
