Shearis Yisroel's recent efforts to significantly reduce
poultry prices have made a tremendous impact on Jerusalem's
bnei Torah community. These efforts were made in
response to the request of maranan verabonon that
extensive efforts be made to encourage the use of products
and services bearing Shearis supervision. The Shearis
supervision is known for its outstanding hiddurim.
Bnei Torah from all over the country, especially in
Jerusalem, requested products with this hechsher.
Recently, a special arrangement was made between the Alshi
organization and the Machsan Habasar for the purchase of meat
at reduced rates. Those purchasing poultry from Machsan
Habasar may now also include fruits and vegetables in their
order. The arrangement includes free deliveries to all parts
of the city.
The success of the special arrangement is evident from the
many orders received by Machsan Habasar. Alshi says that it
is working on obtaining reductions on additional food
products, in order to assist the bnei Torah community
and to increase consumption of products with Shearis Yisroel
supervision.
