HaRav Dovid Te'omim zt"l, 52, one of the most respected
members of the Torah community of Lakewood NJ, and one of the
most prominent mashgichim of the OU kashrus
organization, was killed in an air crash in Ecuador.
The niftar, who studied with great hasmodoh in
the Lakewood kollel for many years, is the son of HaRav A.

chochom.

Bostoner Rebbe.
News of the crash cast a heavy pall of mourning over the
large Jewish communities of New York and Lakewood.
A delegation of rabbonim and askonim set out for
Ecuador in order to bring back the niftar's body. The
reason for the crash is unknown.
The niftar had traveled to Ecuador on behalf of the
OU. The flight was a local one, and the plane was a small

The levaya in New York was attended by a large crowd.
The aron was brought to Israel where he was buried in
Jerusalem. He is survived by seven children, three of whom
are married.
