alert:
The Chodosh season in the U.S. is starting. The following are
the earliest estimated dates when Chodosh may be starting in

and Far West. Packaged foods may be Chodosh after the
following purchase dates: oats-Sept. 15, wheat-Sept. 17,

Two lists: "Yoshon with hashgocho" and "Yoshon without
hashgocho"
A major change in the Guide this year will be the division of
all items to the categories of "Yoshon with hashgocho" and
"Yoshon without hashgocho" The list of "Yoshon without
hashgocho" will include all products where the manufacturer,
baker or other producer states that the item is Yoshon, but
there is no mashgiach specifically for Yoshon. Most "Yoshon"
items listed in the Guide in previous years would have been
in this list. The new "Yoshon with hashgocho" classification
is reserved for all cases where the Yoshon status is
certified by a mashgiach. (The Guide does not provide or take
responsibility for any hashgochos.)
This includes almost exclusively items and companies from the
United States.
The Guide to Chodosh is a voluntary research project of
Yoseph Herman. It does not give any hashgochos or accept any
payments or donations. The fees collected for sale and
subscriptions of the Guide are used exclusively to cover the
costs of the project and related activities.
