Annual Crohn's Disease Conference in Bnei Brak

by N. Katzin

HaRav Yitzchok Zilberstein, rov of Ramat Elchonon, was on hand at the annual conference of Ezra Umozor, an organization for Crohn's disease sufferers, in Bnei Brak and hundreds of members arrived from around the country.

Ezra Umozor helps patients design special diets to help alleviate their problems. The organization says a large portion of those treated recover completely and are no longer in need of drug treatment and others see dramatic improvement in their condition.

Prof. Yaakov Shoham, a ranking physician and lecturer at Bar- Ilan University, discussed how HaKodosh Boruch Hu provided the human body a fabulous ability to remedy itself. HaRav Zilberstein, who serves as the organization's halachic advisor, spoke about the healing power of Torah, bitochon and the mitzvah of following a proper diet.

The height of the conference was a public recitation of Nishmas Kol Chai to thank HaKodosh Boruch Hu for the recovery sent to many of the participants followed by a seudas hodo'oh based on the principles of the prescribed diet. Later HaRav Aharon Yehuda Shteinman made an appearance, offering encouragement and support for the organization.
