Six Sifrei Torah Brought into Yeshivat Orot Hatshuvah
By Betzalel Kahn

Yeshivat Orot Hatshuvah marked 18 years in Jerusalem's Har Nof neighborhood with a hachnosas sefer Torah ceremony for six sifrei Torah installed at the new building of the yeshiva complex on Rechov Hakablan and a special show of appreciation for the nosi, HaRav Daniel Biton.

Orot Hatshuvah institutions include Mishkan HaTorah, a yeshiva ketanoh that has gained repute in the yeshiva world and sent graduates to many of the leading yeshivos gedolos; Netiv HaTalmud, set up three years ago with the blessings of gedolei Yisroel and has drawn top talmidei chachomim to its ranks; and a kollel in operation for 18 years.

Orot Hatshuvah also runs a publishing house that recently embarked on an ambitious project to publish Arba Turim based on the Beis Yosef's original manuscript and 30 previously unknown handwritten manuscripts.

HaRav Biton's talmidim came from around the country to celebrate the yeshiva's 18th anniversary, many arriving from kehillos HaRav Biton launched and built all over.

The central event, held at the Congress Center at Jerusalem's Binyanei Ha'uma on Monday, was attended by roshei yeshivos, rabbonim, dayanim, admorim public figures and friends of Orot Hatshuvah from Eretz Yisroel and abroad. The central dinner included a show of appreciation for HaRav Biton and his many efforts to increase kvod Shomayim during the past 18 years.

The hachnosas sefer Torah on Tuesday began at HaRav Biton's home with the completion of the six sifrei Torah written in memory of the six million holy kedoshim killed during the Holocaust and was followed by a ceremony to mark the posting of the mezuzas at the new beis medrash.
