Degel HaTorah Election Campaign Launched by HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman

They came, one by one, from all over the country: Yeruchom and Ofakim in the south and Afula and Tsefat in the north. All of them rallied at the urgent call of the Rosh Yeshiva, and `Who saw them going and did not join?" No one remained home. There must have been a thousand participants, among them Torah disseminators, rabbonim, and the Degel HaTorah public representatives from everywhere who answered the cry that vibrated heartstrings: Fire! Danger! The very survival and vitality of the Jewish people is at stake. Let not Torah be forgotten from the Jewish people!

"There's a Fire! Danger! Beware! Torah Must Not be Forgotten!"

Jews are mutually responsible, both as individuals as well as for the Klal, all the more so for Jews who are not bnei Torah and must be guarded against [spiritual] danger. Anyone might say that this does not relate to me personally but it does! Every Jew in Eretz Yisroel, every individual, is responsible for the body of Jewry following the Torah path.

The 90th Agudah Convention

The date of the 90th National Convention of Agudath Israel of America had changed, said Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, the organization's executive vice president. But so, he continued, had the theme - and for the same reason.

An Obligation and Responsibility to Guard the Sanctity of Bais Yaakov From Threats of Technology

A meeting of the Union of Seminary Principals which took place in Bnei Brak, attended by principals from all over the country, dealt thoroughly and intensively with the duty and responsibility to preserve the sanctity of Bais Yaakov from outside influences and technological dangers. It was noted that Sarah Schenirer established the Bais Yaakov movement in order to save Jewish girls from Haskalah influence which, in its time, felled many a victim. It is our responsibility to carry on her work and preserve the spirit of Bais Yaakov, for this is the very survival and continuity of the Jewish people.

The Admor of Sadigur zt"l

Deep mourning descended on all Beis Yisroel and in particular on Sadigur chassidim with the spread of the news of the passing of kvod kedushas the Admor of Sadigur, HaRav Avrohom Yaakov Friedman ztvk"l, the elder of the Admorei Rozhin and one of the tzaddikim and geonim of our generation. The Admor was a tremendous masmid who worshiped Hashem with a wonderful deveikus throughout his life, as well as a survivor of the Dor Dei'ah and a faithful guide for his community that grew in all ways under his stewardship. He was called to the Heavenly yeshiva on Tuesday morning, 19 Teves.

The Maharam Ash — HaGaon Rabbi Meir Eisenstaedter zt"l
In honor of his yahrtzeit, 24 Teves

Rabbenu the Maharam Ash, one of the greatest talmidim of the Chasam Sofer, zy"a, made sure to cleave to his teacher so as to derive lessons from his every nuance. His soul became entwined with that of his Rebbe's to the extent that he felt his life and that of Klal Yisroel depended on the Chasam Sofer. Consequently, the Maharam Ash, for thirty years, would daily lie prostrate on the floor and daven for the well-being and health of the Chasam Sofer. Despite the fact that he was a practicing rov in a few communities while the Chasam Sofer was alive, he never paskened a practical halochoh that wasn't yet printed.
