Dunner Foundation Launched at CER Conference in Warsaw

"Through the efforts of Conference of European Rabbis President HaRav
Pinchos Goldschmidt, we hereby announce the formation of the Dunner
Foundation for Jewish Sanctity," CER Executive Committee Chairman and
Tikva Odessa Chairman Rabbi Refoel Kruskal announced on Tuesday to the
27th CER conference, held this year in Warsaw. The foundation will
focus on "mikva construction in Eastern European countries and will
expand CER outreach on the importance of the sanctity of the Jewish
people within European Jewish communities," he said.
Rabbi Kruskal revealed that the foundation, which was started in
memory of Rabbi Avrohom Abba Dunner z"l, has already raised
funding for the construction of 10 mikvehs and seven kindergartens
through the assistance of the Chulya organization and the Matanel
Foundation, which foster Torah learning and schooling in European
Jewish communities.
The speakers and lecturers at the two-day conference included HaRav
Yaakov Dov Bleich, the rov of Ukraine and a member of the CER
Executive Committee; guest of honor HaRav A. Weiss, the Gavad
of Darkei Horo'oh; HaRav Yirmiyohu HaKohen, av beis din of
Paris and author of a collection of responsa titled Veherim
HaKohen; HaRav Yechiyah Tubol, av beis din of Lyons,
France; and CER Vice President HaRav Menachem Gelley, av beis
din of London.
