The Torah Community of Belarus is Expanding

The recent holiday period served to highlight the development of the
Torah community in Belarus, under the leadership of HaRav Shimon
Brook, rosh yeshiva of the Berditchev Yeshiva in the Ukraine, and head
of Menorah — A Light to our Brethren in the Diaspora, which is
under the nesius of HaRav Matisyahu Salomon, the mashgiach of
Lakewood.
HaRav Brook spent most of the holy day period in Belarus, along with
several avreichim who came specially from Eretz Yisroel. The
successfully created a true Torah and yeshiva atmosphere in
Belarus.
Speaking before the blowing of the Shofar, HaRav Brook expressed his
amazement that in the former Soviet Union dozens of young Jews can
openly meet and daven without fear. "We see fulfilled the promise of
the Creator of the World, that the Torah will never be forgotten,"
said HaRav Brook.
