Mass Bittul Torah in an Unannounced Inspection of Mir Yeshiva in
Jerusalem

Thousands of Mir Yeshiva talmidim and avreichim had to leave their
learning on Wednesday during the first seder as a sudden inspection
was conducted by the Ministry of Education. The inspectors were not
fully prepared for the large amount of talmidim involved and they were
not able to finish the inspection that day.

Yisroel shlita, held a meeting this week in Jerusalem at the home
of HaRav Boruch Shmuel HaKohen Deutsch, one of the roshei yeshiva of
Yeshivas Kol Torah and a member of Vaadas HaRabbonim.
Employees Continue to Join Kosher Pension Plans

During the past two years, as the opinion of gedolei Yisroel
shlita regarding the need to hold a kosher pension fund has come
to light, all of the pension companies in Israel have set up kosher
pension funds under halachic supervision. Many employees have joined
these tracks, which have brought high yields compared to regular
tracks.
Will Holland Become Latest Country to Ban Shechita?

The Dutch Parliament is currently considering legislation that would
ban shechita, adding the Netherlands to a list of European
countries where it is prohibited.

Hershey Friedman Acquires Azorim for NIS 300 Million

Chareidi businessman Hershey Friedman has acquired a controlling share
(64 percent) in real estate and construction company Azorim for NIS
300 million (about $83 million). Friedman overcame Eliezer Fishman's
Industrial Buildings Corporation (IBC) and Sari Arison's Housing and
Construction Real Estate, which also vied for the acquisition.
